 Artist Residencies

(Self-led) artist residency programs play an important role in my practice.

I deeply appreciate the opportunity to work in a new environment, away from the restrictions and pressures of my everyday life. AiR programs provide the time and space I need to be able to develop work and creatively explore new ideas, while (tempoarily) quenching my seemlingly never-ending thirst, curiosty and desire to experience and explore new places.

Upcoming AiR - September 2024

I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to attend ‘Joya: AiR’ - a not for profit artist residency developed by artists for artists, based in the Parque Natural Sierra María - Los Vélez, National Park, in Spain.

I will be travelling and working together with Sume Leyden, whom I first met at Slade School Of Fine Art in London. Our focus will be on the language of place - we will be collecting and experimenting with local pigments (earth, clays, plants), sounds (field recordings), and other sensory impressions, which we will then take back to our respective studios in Norway and the UK to further research, with an intention of returning to Joya in 2025 for a longer period, creating works born from a deep understanding of place and the times in which we live.
