Drawing on my extensive experience within art & architecture and the facilitation of community development processes, this talk provides insights into how art and the mindset of an artist enables democratic participation within marginalized communities, Increases awareness and an understanding of identity and place and connects people using art process to provide a framework for long term involvement in the shaping of their communities.

I strongly believe in the transformative power of art. Drawing on both my own practice and my extensive work with youth & displaced persons, I share insights into the value art process - with an artist (as opposed to a therapist) - has for mental health and general well being.
